Acer Incorporated is a Taiwan-based multinational electronics manufacturer. Its product lineup includes desktops and laptops, PDAs, servers and storage, displays, peripherals, and e-business services for business, government, education, and home users. Acer is the largest manufacturer of laptop computers, and the world’s third largest computer manufacturer after Hewlett-Packard and Dell.

Acer Aspire One is a line of subcompact notebook computers, or netbooks, released in July 2008 by Acer Inc.

Its main competitors in the low-cost netbook market are the Asus Eee PC line and the Dell Inspiron Mini.
