Product Details and Features
The ASUS Eee Pad Slider SL101 10.1 inch tablet comes in two colors: white and mocha, and you can also choose from a 16GB or 32GB capacity, depending on your usage needs. The unit with a smaller storage capacity is the Slider SL101-A1, while the model with 32GB is the SL101-B1.
Similar to its sister product, the ASUS transformer, the slider is sleek and stylish. But it offers that unique edge that the Transformer never did – its own in built keyboard. The Slider offers a USB port by default while the Transformer lacks this feature but you can get the optional docking station that enables you to add two USB ports. Aside from that, the two tablets are both of the highest quality and boast similar technological specifications.
The 10.1″ LED-backlit ISP Capacitive Multitouch Panel offers an ultra-wide 178° viewing angle, good colors and brightness. It’s made from durable and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla glass and the navigation is straightforward and user-friendly. When you slide up the tablet screen, it’s supported at the back and reveals a comfortable and easy-to-use keyboard built in underneath.
The Slider SL101 comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz processor. The dual core processor is a NVIDIA Tegra 2 and runs at impressive speeds whether you’re surfing or working. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mini HDMI, micro SD card reader and a pair of cameras. The tablet can run for 8 hours on the standard battery.

Pros
The Slider SL101 has a very impressive display. It is powered with a fast dual-core processor by Nvidia. The slide-out keyboard that is built right into the Slider gives users a faster, more intuitive and comfortable typing experience compared to an on-screen keyboard. It can switch between tablet mode and a full-fledged notebook with just one slide.
Further to that, the cameras are high spec, the front being 1.2 megapixel and the rear providing 5 megapixel quality. They’re also quality enough to support quality face-to-face chats with your loved ones. The mini-HDMI port allows you to hook the tablet up to your compatible TV so you can supersize your entertainment!
Cons
Some people still prefer the ASUS Transformer to the Slider because the Slider’s in-built keyboard does make it a little bulkier than the Transformer. However, if you’re a fan of the keyboard, you’ll happily bear the extra weight for the convenience it lends.
Conclusion
The ASUS Eee Pad Slider offers plenty for your money. The Android Honeycomb 3.2 operating system provides you with optimized features and functions such as multi-touch and a holographic interface that allows you to access widgets and shortcuts with ease. It was developed specifically for tablets.
Well there’s no doubting that this tablet looks pretty good. Whether you go for the mocha or the white design, you won’t be ashamed to slide this machine out in public.
So if you’re keen to move over to tablets but you’re worried you’ll miss your notebook too much, shoot for the ASUS Slider and get the best of both worlds.
