Products details and features
This ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet is supremely thin and lightweight and comes in two models: the TF201-B1 and the TF201-C1. The B1 has a 32GB memory while the C1 boasts an impressive 64GB capacity. Currently standing as the thinnest tablet model on the market (0.33”), this tablet is enjoying its time in the spotlight. This is one of the main differences between the TF201 and its predecessor, the TF101. The other gap is between the quality of the processors. The TF201 features a powerful Tegra 3 quad-core CPU which provides the user with supreme multi-tasking capabilities. It really does run at lightning speeds compared to its predecessor.

The Transformer Prime is built of high quality aluminum. The screen is a 10.1 inch WXGA Super IPS+ multi-touch display unit with a 178 degree viewing angle. The Corning Gorilla glass provides a clear view of your HD entertainment. The machine comes loaded with the Android 3.2 honeycomb platform that is upgradeable to the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for those with higher needs.
The Transformer Prime has 1GB of RAM, a micro-HDMI port and a microSD card slot. It also has 2 cameras, a front 1.2MP and rear 8MP. The optional docking station on the Transformer Prime is pure genius for those who love tablets but miss the traditional keyboard. The docking station for the TF201 provides a full QWERTY keyboard with touchpad, a full-sized USB port and a full-sized SD card slot, whilst also extending battery life to an incredible 18 hours for all day computing on the go.
Pros
The metallic spun finish of the Transformer Prime tablet makes it a very attractive machine. It features the powerful and responsive Android operating system. The inbuilt speakers are top quality and you’ll receive good sound for a tablet.
This device also packs a punch in the camera department, with an 8MP rear shooter and full 1080p HD video recording capabilities. The battery is a 25 w/h li-polymer which will last you an impressive 12 hours at its optimum performance. Reaching 18 hours with the optional keyboard dock is simply a bonus.

Cons
The biggest problem with the Transformer Prime tablet is that because of its new dimensions, it’s not compatible with the old docking station so if you have one compatible with the TF101, it unfortunately will not fit with this new model so you will need to invest in a new one. It lacks 3G connectivity, so it is a Wi-Fi-only tablet. Other than that, this tablet is receiving pretty good reports so far.

Conclusion
If you’re in the market for a super-fast tablet with docking station, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 is certainly the machine for you. Perfect for those on the move, this ultra-light, ultra- slim machine is a pretty impressive new addition to the market.
ASUS has been ranked number one recently by three independent sources as the most reliable PC brand so despite it not being up there with the real tycoons, it’s clearly a dependable option.
