ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1001PX 10.1-Inch Netbook

Their latest entry into the netbook realm is the 1001PX ten-inch netbook, and it is turning a great many heads with its sleek design and seashell outer casing. More than just a pretty face, the 1001PX is an ultra-efficient netbook that will challenge your preconceptions about what a netbook is supposed to be.

An environmentally friendly unit

For green-minded netbook users, this ASUS model should be right up their alley. Using a patented Super Hybrid Engine technology, the 1001PX manages to provide up to nine straight hours of use on a fully charged battery. IN addition, the 10.1 inch display uses backlighting and LED technology to ensure that you have great resolution and ease of viewing from every angle imaginable. On the down side, the 160GB hard drive is designed for long term use but capacity is not up to the memory intensive requirements of most gaming platforms.

The differences between the 1001PX and 1001P model are Operating System, battery life, size of keyboard and USB port. The 1001PX come with the option for either Windows XP Basic or Windows 7 Starter, a 95% full-size keyboard, and only 2 USB ports. While the 1001P features Windows 7 Stater, a 92 full-size keyboard, 3 USB ports and up to 11 hours of battery life. Other specs of the Eee PC 1001PX is similar to the Eee PC 1001P. Both netbooks have Intel Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and 802.11b/g WiFi.

Taken as a whole, the ASUS Eee PC 1001PX is the perfect netbook option for anyone who main priorities involve limited computing activities and maximum use of media. At less than three hundred dollars a unit, the price is certainly in the right range for any parents looking for their children’s first computers or for anyone who simply needs to stay connected while on the road.
